Acceptable Use Policy

This policy forms part of the Fibre Service Terms and explains how the Vantage Point service, website and network may be used.

At a glance

  • Use the connection lawfully and respect other people’s rights.
  • Do not interfere with the network or bypass its security.
  • Abuse may lead to a warning, suspension or termination.

Lawful use

You may not use the service to:

  • Download or distribute illegal content.
  • Share copyrighted material without permission.
  • Distribute unlawful, harmful or abusive content, or threaten or harass others.
  • Engage in fraud or other criminal activity.

Network security

You may not:

  • Hack, scan or probe networks without authorisation.
  • Attempt to bypass authentication or access controls.
  • Perform denial-of-service attacks.
  • Spoof IP or MAC addresses to bypass security or impersonate another user.
  • Interfere with another user’s access or threaten network integrity.

Messaging abuse

You may not:

  • Send spam or bulk unsolicited messages.
  • Forward abusive chain letters.
  • Mail-bomb, flood or otherwise overwhelm recipients.

Protecting your equipment

Keep your devices secure and take reasonable steps to prevent malware, viruses and compromised equipment from affecting the network or other users.

Do not resell the connection unless your service agreement permits it.

Enforcement

Vantage Point may warn the customer, suspend or terminate access, or report illegal activity to the relevant authorities. The response depends on the nature and seriousness of the issue and is subject to applicable law and your service agreement.

Serious threats to network integrity or unlawful activity may require immediate action.

If you are unsure whether an activity is allowed, or wish to report a concern, email payments@vpsolutions.io. Include the relevant service reference and enough detail for us to investigate. Do not send passwords or other people’s private content.
